The flagship of Honda’s X range, the V4-engined adventure sports tourer has a number of updates:
– New adjustable windscreen, easily operated with one hand, that allows fine adjustments of screen height
– Three levels of S mode for the Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT) version to cover a wider range of riding scenarios and styles. Software upgrades that allow the machine to detect uphill and downhill slopes and adjust its shift pattern accordingly. The DCT option has been chosen by the majority of VFR1200X Crosstourer customers since 2014.

The VFR1200X is home to a 1,237cc V4 engine, advanced chassis and electronic package which features a combined ABS Traction Control System (TCS) and the option of Honda’s Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT) gear box for consistent, seamless gear changes.

43mm inverted fork
The VFR’s inverted fork is testimony of the model’s design to excel on varying road surfaces. It offers optimised steering and stability with front and rear suspension providing additional control and absorption. Shock generated by bumpy surfaces is also absorbed by the radial spoked wheels.
Diamond aluminium twin-spar frame
The 1200X’s diamond aluminium twin-spar frame enables precise control over the weight and rigidity balance of each part of the bike.
Slim and compact V4 engine with Euro 4
An ingeniously designed engine reduces frontal area and aids mass centralisation with Euro 4 compatibility.
Combined ABS
Working between the dual front 310mm discs/3 piston callipers and rear 276mm discs/twin-position callipers, combined ABS delivers more stable deceleration.
RIDING SPECS
Honda’s Unicam technology contributes to the 1,237cc, 16-valve engine. This SOHC configuration helps to reduce the weight and size of the cylinder heads and optimises combustion chamber shape.
Specially designed to provide practical functionality and smoothness of ride, VFR1200X’s vibration is virtually eliminated by a 76 degree angle between the two banks of cylinders and a crank shaft with 28 degree phasing between the crankpins.
The PGM-FI fuel injection system employs 44mm throttle bones and fly-by-live technology for concise throttle control.
